Competition
The airline industry could have
argued in 1978 against
deregulation by purporting
that competition will cause fares to increase because the duplication of services with their over 200 million dollar a piece jumbo jets. Luckily, this fell on deaf ears and
the airline industry is now
a large and growing one providing excellent quality at an affordable price.
I do not know if airline executives
are laughing at the hospital administrator’s absurd argument of the horrors caused by a possible second MRI scanner coming into town or are crying as they sign the checks of their employee’s health care bills.
